Butler - this little female is also a calico, but has the distinctive white bib and a white tip on her tail. Butler loves to run and play with her litter mates. She is definitely a long hair kitty, and has very wise eyes.

Kitten #1 --- SQUEAKER
My aunt has some kittens available for adoption around Thanksgiving. If you are interested, leave a comment here and i will hook you up with adorableness :)
Squeaker - this all black female kitten loves to play. Her opinions are expressed in vocalizations that can mean anything from "hi" to "got food?". She is not shy, and is the first or second one who comes running over to see what is going on.

Apples & flat lap grinders.... all else is temporarily on hold.
I bought a flat lap grinder last week and only just today got around to assembling it. It took a while (there are screws that are threaded so that they loosen to the right.... doh!) and I'm going to be honest with you ---- after turning it on and off a couple of times and watching the motor spin so fast that the whole machine kind of sidled & practically jumped sideways on my countertop, I'm a little scared of using the thing. But I will. I just need to step out and pick up some distilled water for it before trying anything.
In other news, I don't think I should be allowed to go to any produce farms with 11 frogs. I thought I learned my lesson with the tomato insanity business earlier this summer, but no.
You see, I now have 49 pounds of apples to process...
:o

Yellow Orange Passion Blend
Here you see two projects in one.... first, the small garden path I'm going to finish before the ground freezes. Last night I was raking leaves in different patterns to lay out the shape of the path once and for all (much easier than moving all the rocks, which is what I was doing before). Turns out I need more rocks.
Second, you can see the oodles of bulbs I bought last week. Allium, fritillaria, tiny dwarf iris, anemone, camassia, crocus, narcissus, and tulips. About 265 bulbs total at the moment, and I may possibly get a few more tulips. Maybe. An alternate subject or title for this post could be "Glutton for punishment". I do this every year to the tune of 100-300 new bulbs. And every year I complain about what a pain it is. But then every spring I am hap-hap-happy to see all the new flowers in my yard. Except for last year. Last year I didn't plant any and this spring my yard seemed just a little less festive, a little less full than it could have been. So this year I maybe might be trying to make up for it ... just a little (^_^) "Yellow Orange Passion Blend" is my most exciting bag of bulbs thus far --- they are crazy designer narcissus in all sorts of double & triple formations. Can't wait to see them --- check back in ~6 months for an update!
